Every 3Score Gym member receives individualized programming and coaching. Whether you’re brand new to lifting or a seasoned athlete, we meet you where you are and help you get where you want to go (with encouragement, not ego).

We are a strength training gym located in Berkeley, CA specializing in barbell training for adults. Our Scientific Approach

You are front of mind
You will start with an in-person assessment to ensure our programming meets you where you are and teaches you safe movement patterns. Our goal is to get everyone lifting with barbells. But if you have limited range of motion or impingements we have various techniques to adapt lifts and training to ensure you still can get to those compound lifts at your own pace.

Scientific Approach
All training programs rely on the most recent information coupled with our tried and true methodology to meet your needs and help you hit your goals. We measure progress by not only weight increments on the barbell but also collaborating with health professionals and lean muscle mass measurements via biannual InBody Scans.
Who are our classes for?
We have designed our gym and our program specifically for adults. We have specific training and programming to address a number of issues faced by adults, due to injuries and everyday aging. We specialize in training to optimize life after forty.
Injury Prevention & Optimized Performance
Weight training along with supplemental functional movement training will help correct imbalances that have been created from repetitive movements and optimize performance to help you reduce your chances of nagging injuries and have you move better and stronger in your everyday life.
Sarcopenia
Sarcopenia is the loss of muscle mass and subsequent strength as we age. By focused weight training not only can you maintain muscle mass but increase it as you age and become a stronger version of yourself.
Endurance & Aerobic Fitness
We offer HIIT training focused on VO2 max efforts to maintain and even increase your endurance and aerobic fitness. Let us help you decrease your overall risk of all cause mortality and keep you participating in all the activities you love.
Osteopenia & Osteoporosis
As we age many of us face Osteopenia and Osteoporosis diagnoses. Incorporating strength and resistance training into your life can maintain and at times increase bone density to allow you to become that active participant in your life with confidence.
Pricing Plans, For a stronger healthier life
3Score gym is a premium studio and coaching service. At 3Score Gym we take a total body approach to training. Memberships include personalized barbell coaching, movement specific training and cardiovascular fitness programming designed to your specific needs.
We recommend our Onboarding Program, which starts with a personalized consultation and movement assessment and 1 month of one small group session a week for 1 hour. Onboarding sessions are designed to get you comfortable with programming and basic movement patterns. If you are a more experienced lifter or athlete looking to gain lean muscle mass or compliment current training we recommend the 6 month Program. Our 6 month commitment includes 2 sessions a week, more targeted training towards strength gains as well as In-Body Scans to muscle mass measurements. Contact us for other contract options.

Frequently Asked Questions
We start with a In person Movement consultation that offers a detailed health, fitness and movement assessment. This ensures that we are able to address any concerns and identify personalized goals.
The movement assessment ensures that our expert coaches are able to create an individualized program catered to your goals, needs and fitness level.
We have a variety of plans memberships, ranging from pre-paid annuals to month to month.
Our recommended contract length is a 6 month contractual commitment ($650/mo) which is to allow for you to see the impacts of our training programs on lean muscle mass development and strength.
We offer other contract lengths but do remind members that consistency is key in building muscle. Reach out to talk to us.
Memberships include in person movement assessment, barbell training program, HIIT and functional movement training. Memberships are based on a 2 times per week commitment. Dependant on the contract we also offer InBody scans for members that purchase a 6 and 12 month contracts.
Expect to come to the gym 2 times a week for 1 hour each session. Sessions will focus both on upper and lower extremities and compound movements. Your coach will have your personalized program ready for you each time you come in. While the “weight on the bar” will get heavier as you get stronger, the level of difficulty will remain about the same. With consistency you can expect to be substantially stronger in 3-6 months. After that your improvements will slow down, and your personal program will become more complex, with heavy days and light days, but you can continue to get stronger for years. We will provide a positive and supportive environment to encourage you to become the stronger and healthier version of yourself.
Functional Movement Fitness Classes focus on helping you build a body that’s strong, balanced, and ready for whatever life brings. We incorporate functional movements coupled with HIIT training with a variety of strength, conditioning, and mobility movements to keep your heart rate up and smile on your face. We recommend adding in 1 class per week to supplement the lifting program. Classes are 1 hour long.
We accept online credit card payments or ACH. We have partnered with Stripe to process payments securely online. We do not retain any bank information.
We require a 24 hour cancellation notice. If you miss a class due to illness, family or life event and have provided the adequate notice we will do our best to find an alternate time for you to fit in with another pod within the same week. If you go on vacation for more than 1 week we will pause your account. Makeups need to be rescheduled within the same billing period.
